Call 1-800-452-2223 ext. #5 for racing updates.
Every weekend, check the Ski School Blue Race Board for slope
locations and changes.
Every weekend, check Shadow Box for MVSC changes and times.
Registration will be at Seven Springs Ski School desk, starting
two hours before the race starts.
Categories:
The first two races will also act as qualifiers to eliminate sandbaggers
and establish groups - but points will count towards what group
the racer ends up in.
Notes:
The most obvious fact from last year is that we need more novice
racers! Do not be offended by the term novice racer,
this does not mean novice skier, but just someone new to racing
or has perhaps only raced NASTAR. The best way to prepare is to
attend a few training sessions and use the coaching tips early
in the training session, when the course is easier and later on
in your free skiing or even next to a training course. The object
is to have fun, become a better skier, and challenge your friends
to become better.
Seven Springs may allow us to cut the lift lines during training
and races if we wear racing bibs while participating. Members
will be issued a bib and number to use for the season-this should
help with the Tyrol and Avalanche lift lines.
Gold/Silver/Bronze will be awarded using modified World Cup 10
point system.
Awards/Race Video Review will be same day as race when possible.
Mogul Contests may be club subsidized - check with Board.
Mountain classes will be tentatively scheduled for crowded Sunday
afternoons like: Jan.16th, Martin Luther King's Birthday weekend;
Feb.20th, Presidents weekend; and March 5th, spring sunshine!
NASTAR
Most will be Saturday or Sunday 10 a.m. in February. Let's try
to improve on our national rankings and place in the top three
in all categories.
