ATA Telepalooza this Weekend
This is not a MVSC event, but a lot of our members participate in the event and it is a great way to get started in Telemark Skiing.
Telepalooza 2009! The 7th Annual Telepalooza festival will be held on Jan 31 / Feb 1 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Join telemarkl skiers from around the Mid-Atlantic for a weekend of freeheel fun! Telepalooza features clinics, races and demo gear with a party featuring food, drink and fabulous prizes each night.
Cost: One day pass is $79. A two-day pass is $99. Kids age 16 and under are FREE. An early registration discount of $10 is available up until one week before the event. This price includes all daily programs, food, drink and awesome prizes but does NOT include your lift ticket. Note that lift ticket discount coupons are available at the registration desk, so register before buying a lift ticket!
Payment: Personal check or money order is preferred. Make the check payable to “ATA” and mail to: Jim Kapp, 4448 Gateway Dr. Monroeville Pa 15146. PayPal is also an option but costs the club PayPal fees. Send money to appalachian.telemark@gmail.com and be sure to include comments including your name, phone number and what the payment is for.
Registration will be in the Maple room (old Willis location) from 8-9am.
Clinics: Clinics for all ability levels will be given twice each day. Morning clinics for go out at 9:15am. Afternoon clinics go out at 1:15pm. The clinics will be staffed with members of the Professional Ski Instructors of American Nordic educational staff, some of the best educators in the USA.
Races:
The 7th annual Jack Zoppetti memorial G.S. telemark race will be on Saturday at 11:30 on the new NASTAR course.
Uphill/Downhill fun race will be on Sunday at 11:30am. This is the longest uphill/downhill race in the Mid Atlantic region and includes both the front and back sides of the resort.
Awards party both nights in a location yet to be named by the 7 Springs staff.
Demo Telemark Gear: We are planning on having demo equipment skis and boots for both adults and children.

Rentals: 7 Springs offers rental telemark equipment.
