Frequently Asked Questions

TRIP:

  • If I cancel, is my trip money refundable? 

    • We will work with you to try to identify a replacement. We can also work to try to do partial reimbursement. Believe me, we will trym but cannot promise.

  • Does Holiday Valley participate in the Vail Resorts Epic Pass Program?

    • No, they do not. We evaluated other resorts and this is the combination of best place, least distance to travel, best skiing and après skiing and so forth.

  • Will we be making a Cranberry stop to pick up people ?

    • Yes. Registration for this stop will be announced shortly

  • What if I'm not skiing/boarding?

    • There is an ever-growing group of ski club members who are coming and they find quite a few things to do in and around the Inn at Holiday Valley and the town of Ellicottville itself.

  • The bus is full, can others drive up themselves and meet us there with our discount?

    • Yes, indeed. Just let me know and I will make the arrangements to help them get the discounts and meet up with us for all social events.

  • Must we travel to town for Thursday night dinner with everyone?

    • No. You are free to make your own dinner plans. There is a nice restaurant a short distance from the Inn at Holiday Valley available by shuttle bus from the Inn. John Harvard’s Brew House where reservations are strongly suggested.

    • The bus will drop us off and pick us up in front of the Ellicottville Brewing Company where most people in small groups will dine without reservations.

  • When will we get our lift tickets?

    • When we get off the bus, the hotel front desk will show us where to store our gear and will distribute lift tickets.

  • Will we get update text messages throughout the trip so we know what's going on?

    • More than you can imagine!

  • Can we pay electronically?

    • Yes. Contact me individually. We can take PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle.

BUS:

  • Can we bring snacks, jello shots etc to share on the bus?

    • Absolutely! Sharing things like this (and Evelyn’s bloody marys!) on both the bus and the Thursday evening social hour is greatly appreciated.

  • Will the bus have WiFi and individual power outlets?

    • Yes. Available at each seat.

  • Will we have a first aid kit and hand tools?

    • Yes. In the front of the bus.

HOTEL:

  • Must we stay at the hotel to get the discount?

    • Yes. The hotel rooms are tied to the lift ticket discount plan.

  • When is hotel check-in and check-out?

    • Check-in is 3:00pm Thursday and check-out is 11:00am Friday. We will arrive around noon Thursday and have reserved their large conference room to store everything while we go out skiing for the day.

    • We’ve reserved that same conference room for when you check out Friday morning you can store your stuff there all day.

  • Will there be a place to store our gear Thursday before check-in time (3:00pm) and Friday after check-out (11:00am) time?

    • Yes. See the previous question.

SUBWAY:

  • Can we order other Subway items other than the ones you are displaying?

    • I will try to accommodate you but please be understanding. I need to take 50 individual orders and the Subway workers need to make 50— individual meals.

  • Must we eat at Subway with everyone else?

    • No. You need not eat if you don’t wish, but the bus is making just that one stop so you’ll need to make other arrangements for food.
